With the Patriots making yet another Super Bowl run, conspiracy theories are out of control. Few seem willing to accept the realities of New England's dynasty.

Rams legend Marshall Faulk has had as good a career as any professional athlete could ask for.
- “For me, the real turning point came when the Patriots overcame a 28-3 deficit to come back and beat my favorite team and the team I primarily cover, the Atlanta Falcons, in Super Bowl 51.
- As such, the team should be disqualified from the Super Bowl. (AP) Deflating 11 of 12 balls in Sunday’s game, as has been reported by ESPN, is a major violation and something that had a great.
As a three-time All-American college player at San Diego State, he was in contention for the Heisman Trophy every year before being taken 2nd overall in the 1994 NFL Draft. Upon entering the league, Faulk embarked on his Hall of Fame pro career as one of the best running backs of his era; a career that included two Super Bowl appearances and a ring.
And since retiring from the league, Faulk has had a successful broadcast career as a lead analyst for the NFL Network.
So, considering all that he has accomplished across the course of his adult life, it’s inconceivable that Faulk would still harbor resentments over one of his few major disappointments. But he does.

On Thursday while speaking to WEEI, Faulk adamantly repeated as fact the since-debunked story that the New England Patriots taped the St. Louis Rams’ walk-through prior to Super Bowl XXXVI.
Here is the whole exchange, via transcription posted by WEEI and video from longtime Boston Globe reporter Alex Speier.
“ before the Super Bowl. The guy who worked for the Patriots. If you remember, that was someone mysteriously living in Hawaii, who made his way back to the states and delivered the tapes. Goodell then watched those tapes and said there wasn’t enough there to deem anything being done.
“Now, I didn’t see what was on the tapes, because we didn’t get to see that. The only thing I could say is that they taped our practice. That was wrong.”
Faulk skirted the question of whether or not he felt the Patriots Super Bowl win was due to that perceived cheating.

“I could care less,” Faulk said. “I don’t care about that. Now, what do you want me to say?”
He also disputed the accusation that he has been highly critical of the Patriots over the years.
“You can’t criticize facts,” he said. “The only think I’ve criticized them is the things they have been penalized for. That’s it. Other than that. what have I been critical of? I think Tom Brady is awesome.”
His assertion that he doesn’t care about the Super Bowl directly contradicts statements that he’s made in the past; particularly during Super Bowl media week.

“Am I over the loss? Yeah, I’m over the loss,” Faulk told CSNNE’s Tom E. Curran in New Orleans in 2013. “But I’ll never be over being cheated out of the Super Bowl. That’s a different story. I can understand losing a Super Bowl, that’s fine. … But how things happened and what took place…”
The Boston media has predictably had a field day with Faulk’s comments.

At the end of the day, Faulk was an amazing athlete with an enviable career who accomplished so much on his own merit. Continually harping on a fifteen-year-old conspiracy theory only makes him look petty; something that someone of his achievements most certainly doesn’t need to be.
